Kreydenweiss Or Ange is a biodynamic orange style wine produced by the Kreydenweiss winery in Vin de France with the varieties Garnacha blanca, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Vermentino, Riesling and Viognier.
Kreydenweiss is a family winery with more than 300 years of history based in Alsace. It is run by Marc Kreydenweiss who began his French winemaking career in 1999 when he acquired vineyards in Costières de Nîmes. He is a pioneer in biodynamic practices, and all his vineyards are certified as such.
Kreydenweiss Or Ange comes from an exceptional mix of Vallée du Rhône and Alsace vines. In the vineyard, using biodynamic viticulture methods is very important to compensate for the risk of imbalance caused by the monoculture in the terroir. The harvest is manual and the grapes are classified in the vineyard.
Once in the winery, they are classified for a second time and then destemmed. Kreydenweiss Or Ange is macerated in contact with the skins and goes through a fermentation process with native yeasts. It ages in barrels.
Kreydenweiss Or Ange is an “orange wine” whose name comes from a play on words when you separate ‘orange’ into two words: or (gold) ange (angel). A wine made with traditional practices that result in the most elegant orange wine.
