Characteristics of Julien Brocard Chablis 1º Cru Côte de Léchet
Julien Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet is a monovarietal Chardonnay white wine classified as AOC Chablis Premier Cru. It is produced by Julien Brocard.
Julien Brocard is the son of Jean Marc Brocard. In 2012 he launched his 7 Lieux range, comprising 7 wines made from plots in Domaine Brocard, the family's winery. All these plots have been cultivated biodynamically since 1998, since they have gone a little beyond organic cultivation in an attempt to stimulate and follow the natural, cosmic, lunar and biological rhythms, by applying certain preparations and practising enhancement techniques. The aim is to express the typical nature of Chablis soils by practising biodynamics.
Julien Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet comes from a plot that expresses the delicacy and typical character of Chablis. In the vineyard the plot is located on a sun-facing slope with a 38% gradient, with a poor and stony soil that results in a very low yield but an exceptional grape quality.
Julien Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet is harvested manually, and once in the cellar it is gently pressed. It ferments in oak foudres and undergoes an ageing on lees for a few months in these so that the wine finishes refining and gains volume and complexity.
Julien Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet is an intense and delicate white that offers a fresh and lingering finish.
