Jean Leon 3055 Rosé is an organic wine from Penedès prepared by Jean Leon.

This winery, located in Torrelavit (Barcelona), was founded in 1964 by Jean Leon and was established as a tribute to his incredible life.

Jean Leon was a Spaniard from Santander who travelled as a gypsy for 19 years, arriving in the United States, where he earned a living by exercising all trades, making a name in Hollywood in the mid-twentieth century with the founding of the legendary restaurant La Scala, with James Dean, a friend of Jean Leon, as the main partner.

Jean Leon 3055 Rosé is a tribute to the difficult early life of Jean Leon in America, as a taxi driver with the registration plate number 3055. This wine proudly represents this early stage of a dreamer, the man behind the legend.

Jean Leon 3055 Rosé is made with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from vineyards planted at 600m in altitude.

To prepare Jean Leon 3055 Rosé, fermentation occurs at controlled temperature of 15 ° C in stainless steel tanks for 15-20 days and a brief maceration for 12 hours with the skins in stainless steel.

Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.

The Jean Leon winery was designed and built in 1964, Chateau de Bordeaux style. It stands at the midpoint of the payment in one of the highest points of the same and is surrounded by vineyards themselves. The philosophy of the winery has always been oriented to quality, elegance and into limited production so as to maintain personal control of all its wines throughout the process. That is why despite the technical advances incorporated the cellar, yet many of the works are conducted in an absolutely traditional manual, ensuring a perfect follow up work.
