Characteristics of Jean-Claude Lapalu Beaujolais Villages La Tentation
Jean-Claude Lapalu Beaujolais Villages La Tentation is a natural monovarietal Gamay red wine from the AOC Beaujolais Villages produced by Jean-Claude Lapalu.
Jean-Claude Lapalu is the son and grandson of Beaujolais winemakers. He conceives his work as kitchen-oenology and strives to make his wines the pure reflection of the terroir. He does not add sulphites to the wine nor chaptalise it, i.e. he avoids adding sugars to increase the alcohol content of the wine. He bottles when there is a full moon, uses natural corks and submits the wines to ageing in barrels made with oak from the Trotanoy forest. In total he cultivates around 12 hectares of vineyards, and the average age of the vines is about 40 years.
The vineyards for Jean-Claude Lapalu Beaujolais Villages Lapalu Tentation are aged between 15 and 35 years and are planted in granitic soils. They are farmed without herbicides or chemical pesticides, seeking at all times to respect the nature and biodiversity of the plots as much as possible. They are always harvested manually to ensure that the grapes arrive in the cellar as intact as possible.
Jean-Claude Lapalu Beaujolais Villages La Tentation is made without added sulphites or commercial yeasts, and is fermented with native yeasts. It is vinified by performing a carbonic maceration, vatting the bunches whole without destemming, to obtain aromas of fresh red fruit. The must-wine macerates with the skins for about 10-12 days and is finally aged in casks for around 5 or 6 months.
Jean-Claude Lapalu Beaujolais Villages La Tentation is a very fruity wine that is easy to drink.
