Hunter’s Riesling is a white wine aged on lees made in the Malborough region of South Island (New Zealand) by Hunter’s using the Riesling variety.
This New Zealand winery was founded in 1979 in the Wairau Valley by late Irishman Ernie Hunter and his wife Jane. Being one of Marlborough’s pioneering wineries, it has quickly become one of the best known wineries in the country. Today Jane Hunter, known as the “First Lady of New Zealand Wine” produces world-renowned elegant and classic wines year after year.
Hunter’s Riesling comes from two vineyards located in the Rapaura area of Marlborough. These vines are planted on alluvial soils and sustainably cultivated and certified to guarantee protection for the environment. The grapes are harvested by machine and immediately transferred to the winery.
Once the Hunter’s Riesling grapes are selected and destemmed, they are gently pressed to produce the must. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, it is filtered and clarified for bottling.
Hunter’s Riesling is a young wine from a paradise on earth on the other side of the world. A very aromatic Riesling with a very vibrant acidity.
