Characteristics of Honorio Rubio Macerado
Honorio Rubio Macerado is a white wine made in the D.O.C.a Rioja by Honorio Rubio in Cordovin, La Rioja.
Honorio Rubio is a winery located in the subzone of the Rioja Alta. It owns 15 hectares of vineyards spread across the town of Cordovin. The main varieties are Tempranillo, Garnacha and Viura.
Honorio Rubio Macerado is made with the Viura variety by means of macerating its skins. Through this maceration of the white grape's skins, it is possible to protect the must without having to add sulphur.
As a result, we have a more orange-coloured wine, with some tannins from the maceration of the skins. A very interesting white wine.
Honorio Rubio has started making these limited productions to test ancestral production methods that have existed for many years.
La Rioja is one of the most important areas of wine production in the world. It has a long history, and exceptional soils and climates. From the Tempranillo and Grenache varieties they make great red wines that are masterfully aged which demonstrates the experience passed from generation to generation.
