Characteristics of Heredad de Tejada Crianza
Heredad de Tejada Crianza is a wine from La Rioja produced by Bodega Classica, owned by the Vintae Group. This is a varietal Tempranillo, the most common variety of the area.
The grapes come from old vines more than fifty years old located in Sonsierra, the area's winemaking region of tradition.
The grapes are harvested in October in boxes of 15 kilos, which are quickly transported to the winery. Only clusters with optimal characteristics for winemaking are selected.
Fermentation takes place at 28º and maceration lasts about two weeks. The wine is aged in barrels of French and American oak for about 16 months. Finally, it is aged in bottle for 6 to 8 months. Bodega Classica was constructed strategically. It is located on top of a mound, which allows natural air conditioning. Deposits havelarge mouths meaning that winemaking is done as in the past.
