Henri & Gilles Buisson Meursault Climats de Marguerite is a biodynamic, barrel-aged white wine made by Henri & Gilles Buisson in the AOC Meursault/Côte-d'Or (Burgundy) with the Chardonnay variety.
Henri & Gilles Buisson is a family winery in the Burgundy town of Saint-Roman, in Cote d'Or. The Buisson family have had a presence in this area since the 12th century, but it was not until 1947 when they decided to bottle their own wines. Henri and Marguerite Buisson and later their son Gilles are the brains behind this operation, which produces very expressive wines from terroirs in the most prestigious Burgundy denominations.
Henri & Gilles Buisson Meursault Climats de Marguerite is a cuveé that comes from different plots that belonged to Marguerite, hence the name. These are old vines planted in limestone loam terroirs and cultivated according to biodynamic principles. The harvest is carried out manually and the grapes are selected in the vineyard.
Once the Henri & Gilles Buisson Meursault Climats de Marguerite grapes have passed over the selection table, 50% of them are destemmed and then gently pressed. They then ferment with native yeasts at a controlled temperature and the wine ages on its lees for 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new.
This Henri & Gilles Buisson Meursault Climats de Marguerite cuveé emerges from Grandma Marguerite’s different plots. This is a wine that reveals the perfect balance between fruity notes and aging notes.
