Hajszan Neumann Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC Nussberg is an organic, biodynamic white wine made by Hajszan Neumann on lees with the Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc and Neuburger varieties in the Austrian Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC appellation, in Vienna.
Hajszan Neumann is a winery located in Grinzing, Vienna's most famous wine-growing district. Here, the prestigious winemaker Fritz Wieninger works through certified biodynamic viticulture and enhances the minerality given by the Nussberg mountain. Elegant wines with an authentic expression are obtained as a result.
Hajszan Neumann Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC Nussberg originates at the foot of the Nussberg mountain, in a small area called Weisleiten. These old vines are planted in limestone, eroded shell and clay soils. Biodynamic agriculture is practiced based on the Rudolph Steiner guidelines and without using chemicals. Harvest is carried out manually and late.
The grapes of Hajszan Neumann Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC Nussberg are macerated for 6 hours with their skins before being gently pressed. The must obtained ferments spontaneously for a month with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, it’s left to mature, a small amount in old oak barrels and the rest in the same tanks where the wine fermented. Finally, a coupage is created with the different batches and it’s bottled.
Hajszan Neumann Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC Nussberg is an authentic wine made from the area’s native varieties. A biodynamic white wine of great freshness and elegance.
