Characteristics of Haig Dimple 15 Years
Dimple 15 Years is a Scottish whiskey produced by John Haig & Co. Born from a mixture of different malts, most notably Glenkinchie and Linkwood, it is aged for 15 years. Dimple 15 Years is one of the four most popular Scottish whiskeys in the world.
This whiskey by John Haig & Co, produced since 1824, is the oldest in Scotland and could even be the oldest in the world. Dimple 15 Years, as it is known in Europe, is marketed in the United States under the name Dimple Pitch. Although the names are different, it is indeed the same product.
This whiskey is of such high quality and long tradition, that not even Walter White, star of the hit television series Breaking Bad, or the best known secret agent in the world, James Bond, have been able to resist its charms. Walter White is seen drinking a glass of straight Dimple 15 at the end of the final episode of the series. James Bond, however, was always shown to be a lover of scottish whiskey and bourbon. The film versions, however, decided to change his preference to a vodka Martini. Big mistake, of course.
The bottle is also very special, and was the first in the world to be patented. Rounded, unique and unmistakable, it is inseparable from the whiskey inside. Dimple 15 Years would not be the same without its bottle.
