Characteristics of Habla Nº19
Habla Nº19 is a red wine produced by Bodegas Habla in Trujillo (Cáceres), D.O. Extremadura.
Habla is a winery in Extremadura that uses the most advanced techniques to produce their wines. The company makes unique and inimitable products in each vintage. The technical team is aware of the fact that nature continues its course and, just as years go by, the grapes evolve with time. The grapes used in products made by Habla come from 200 hectares of land that they winery owns, distributed in 68 plots. These are young vineyards that were planted in 1999, and that are planted on slate soils that are not very fertile. The scarce humidity and the high temperature contrasts between day and night, mark the main features of the climate of the area. The viticulture they carry out follows the organic precepts, as they do not use herbicides nor pesticides.
Habla Nº19 is a wine made from Tempranillo from their own vineyards, planted on slate soils that are not too deep.
The harvest is carried out at night, and once the grapes arrive at the winery, the grapes are vatted in deposits. Here, they go through maceration for 6-7 days, and they also ferment at a constant temperature of 26-27ºC. After the fermentation, the wine macerates for 22-23 more days. When the post-fermentation maceration has ended, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels where it goes through the malolactic fermentation and an ageing of 12 months.
Habla Nº19 is an intense, ample and lingering wine. It stands out for its aromatic complexity, showing all the virtues of the grape and the personality of the terroir. Great adaptation of this variety to such a harsh region.
