Characteristics of Guillamina
Guillamina is a white wine from the appellation of origin Costers de Segre produced by Cercavins, a winery established in 2003 in the town of Verú (Lleida).
Guillamina is produced from the varieties verdejo (65%), Sauvignon Blanc (25%) and Gewürztraminer (10%). The vineyards are cultivated using rainfed agriculture, meaning the only water they receive is from the rain.
For its production the graves are crushed and processed in pneumatic presses to obtain 55% of free run juice. The fermentation process for each varietal is completed separately for 15 days at a controlled temperature of 14-15ºC.
Finally the blend and stabilisation of the wine is conducted in cold conditions.

Super safe packaging

When we refer to the DO Costers del Segre we think of wines with a continental character, which in some respects is true, but extensive replantation of international grape varieties means that the majority of wines produced here lack a geographical or territorial trademark, even though the vast majority of the wines are technologically perfect. However, there are currently wineries such as Mas Blanch i Jové, Costers del Sio, L’Olivera, Lagravera and Thomas Cusiné, among others, who concentrate their effors on producing wines with what are considered varieties native to the region. However, the majority of this region is still dominated by classic international varieties.
