Characteristics of Gran Callejo
Félix Callejo is one of the Ribera del Duero wineries that best expresses the Tinta Fina (Tempranillo) variety and the terroir from where it comes.
Gran Callejo is a Tempranillo single-varietal. After the manual harvest and two selection processes the grapes ferment with their natural yeasts, at a low temperature at first and then rising to finish at 30ºC. The malolactic fermentation takes place in 1 year old French oak barrels and the wine then ages for 24 months in new French oak barrels. It then rests in the bottle in the winery for 5 months before going on sale.
Serve at 17ºC
We recommend decanting before consumption

SightPicota cherry colour with a maroon rim and violet reflections. Intense, clean and bright. Fine, pretty, lightly tinted tears show on the glass.NoseIntense, clean nose full of nuances. Ripe red and black fruit appear at first and gradually give way to aromas of spices, vanilla, cocoa, patisserie, with some lactic and toasted notes. Balsamic notes in the background. Worth pondering for a good while.TasteOn the palate this wine is rich, fleshy, long and well-structured. It has lots of body, a magnificent acidity and some essential, sweet and ripe tannins. Very long and persistent. At retro-olfaction intense toasted notes and spices are felt.
