Characteristics of Gran Albina Vendimia Seleccionada
Gran Albina Vendimia Seleccionada is a red wine from Rioja produced by the Riojanas winery, this winery founded in 1890, and has therefore spent more than a century dedicated to the wine world.
The winery is located in the heart of the Rioja Alta, in the municipality of el Cenicero. The climate in this area is moderately continental in nature but with Cantabrian influences. This wine is a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo from the best vineyards in the municipalities of Cenicero, Sonsierra and Villalba de Rioja. The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils of Miocene origin, suitable for high quality grapes. As for the design, grapes are de-stemmed and crushed after selection. Then a long maceration takes place and fermentation control. Finally, Gran Albina Vendimia Seleccionada remains for 20 months in new oak barrels and 12 months in the bottle.
