Characteristics of Gérard Marula J’ai vu rouge
Gérard Marula J'ai vu rouge is a natural red wine made by Gérard Marula in the Loire region of France with the Merlot red variety.
Gérard Marula is a natural winegrower who, in 2005, settled in the French town of Chinon, in the Loire region, to produce decidedly artisan wines. With just over 3 hectares, he ecologically cultivates the land and vinifies without adding anything external to the wine. As a result, he makes great, very small production wines without added sulphites.
Gérard Marula J'ai vu rouge comes from a small plot where the vines are cultivated with respect and conviction. Ecological agriculture is used along with biodynamic treatments instead of chemical products. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, Gérard Marula J'ai vu rouge vinifies with minimal intervention, through carbonic maceration and with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine is not filtered or clarified and no sulphur is added.
Gérard Marula is a viticulturist who goes beyond the standard and, because he does not adhere to the modern Chinon standards, his wines are not part of the AOC. The Gérard Marula J'ai vu rouge wine is proof of this. This is a natural, meaty and fruity Vin de France.
