Characteristics of Fulcro
Fulcro is a white wine produced inRias Baixas by Bodegas Fulcro in the Salnés subzone, specifically in the town of Sanxenxo, Pontevedra.
Manuel Moldes is the person behind theBodega Fulcro. His vineyard is located in the Salnés subzone facing the sea, on granitic sandy soil. His philosophy of respecting the grape and the environment has led him to an ecological viticulture and very little technology in the winery.
Fulcro comes from only one Albariño plantation and ferments in used 500 and 700 litre barrels. It is aged for 12 months in the same barrels without having to undergo malolactic fermentation.
Fulcro is a balanced wine, complex with plenty of character, with a good harmony between ageing and the area’s acidity.

Rías Baixas wines would not be where they are today without the native Albariño grape variety. Although red wines are also produced in Rías Baixas, practically 100% of Rías Baixas wines are white. Among them, the vast majority of them are made with the Albariño grape. As well as young wines, fresh and aromatic, the region also makes wines aged in the barrels, complex wines with great personalities. Albariño wines can either be single varieties, or be part of a blend with other characteristic grapes of the region: Treixadura, Loureira Blanca and Godello.
