Characteristics of Festival Castell Perelada Reserva Especial 2013
Festival Castell Peralada Reserva Especial 2013 is a red wine from the D.O. Empordà produced by the Castillo de Peralada winery on the occasion of the 30 Festival Castell de Peralada.
This wine is a blend of five different grapes varieties: Samsó, Garnacha Negra, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, producing an intense red with great expression. The label on the bottle, work of the artist Perico Pastor, shows Turandot over a red background and serves a real reflection of the wine in the bottle.
Festival Castell Peralada Reserva Especial 2013 is, in short, a product that combines two passions: wine and music. It is a wine that year after yea reinvents itself but never fails to leave an impression.

The landscape of the region of Empordà, located in the northeast of Catalonia, is full of contrasts, due to the natural limits of the Pyrenees in the north and the Mediterranean Sea and magnificent Costa Brava in the east. Thanks to these, the Empordà is a unique place, a special territory between the sea and the mountains, marked by the presence of the north wind known as Tramontana.
Other wines from D.O. D.O. Empordà
Historically, the great economic engine of D.O. Empordà has been and still is Perelada. Many other wineries have looked up to them. Although it produces a wide range of wines, from the more linear and competitive ones to the those that are more exclusive, such as Finca Garbet, the Finca Malaveïna or the Ex Ex collection, among others, it also offers wines made with native varieties, such as the Red and White Grenache, Samsó, etc. However, more than the numerical weight of the wine variety, we must point out the effort made by this winery to halt the progressive decline suffered by the area's image, as a land of bulk wines, where the few bottled wines were oxidised, and others were not too marketable. It is safe to say that Perelada lead the way and marked the new path of the Empordà wines.
