Characteristics of Fèlix Massana Brut Nature Ecològic
Fèlix Massana Brut Nature Ecològic is a cava brut nature from the Cava region produced by the Fèlix Massana winery. It is a blend of 3 grape varieties: Xarel.lo (65%), Macabeo (20%) and Parellada (15%).
The grapes used for Fèlix Massana Brut Nature Ecològic come from old bush vines. The winery uses ecological cultivation methods, and is even certified the Consell Català de la Producció Agrària (CCPAE).
The harvest is carried out manually, with the grapes being transported to the winery in small boxes of 20kg capacity to ensure that they do not break or lose their characteristics.
At the winery, the grapes are placed in cold storage at a temperature of 10ºC. These then undergo maceration.
Fermentation is then carried out at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks. Later a second fermentation takes place.
Finally, Fèlix Massana Brut Nature Ecològic ages in the bottle for at least 24 hours.
Fèlix Massana is a young winery that bases its principles on ecological development and experience, since the winery is led by the fourth generation of a family dedicated to the world of wine.

Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
