Fattoria di Magliano Poggio Bestiale is an organic red wine coupage of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties produced by the Fattoria di Magliano winery, in the DOC Maremma Toscana in Italy.
The geographical location and the climate in Tuscany are perfect for cultivating these varieties that are so frequently used in Bordeaux coupages, and that are now being used to make the Fattoria di Magliano Poggio Bestiale wine. The clusters are harvested during the second week of September and when they reach the winery, they are destemmed and gently pressed. They ferment in stainless steel tanks for about 25 days at a controlled temperature. The resulting wine ages in new 225-litre Allier oak barrels.
After bottling, the wine goes through a final 12 month refinement process in the winery before going on sale.
Fattoria di Magliano is a young winery located in the heart of Tuscany that produces wines using organic farming principles and is a dream come true for Agostino Lenci, a footwear entrepreneur who wanted to become a winemaker and was fascinated by the Tuscan lands where he now cultivates native varieties like Sangiovese and Vermentino. He also produces wines using foreign varieties that have adapted well to the area, emulating the famous Bordeaux reds, as is the case with this Fattoria di Magliano Poggio Bestiale.
