Fattoria di Magliano Pagliatura Vermentino is an organic single-variety Vermentino white wine produced by the Fattoria di Magliano winery, in the DOC Maremma Toscana Vermentino DOC, in Italy.
The grapes used to make Fattoria di Magliano Pagliatura Vermentino come from the Sterpeti, Tizzi and Poggio Bestiale vines, which are approximately 20 years old, lying at altitudes ranging from 150 to 250 metres above sea level. When the clusters reach the winery, they are destemmed and go through a cryomaceration (cold maceration) to preserve the variety’s qualities and aromas as much as possible. They are then pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures for 25 days. The resulting wine ages with its fine lees for 3 months and after bottling it rests in the winery for a couple of months to finish refining before being sold.
La Fattoria di Magliano is a young winery perfectly located in the heart of Tuscany, 300 metres above sea level, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and with mostly sandstone and “scheletro” (fine gravel) soils; It has an ideal climate for producing high quality wines.
This is a dream come true for Agostino Lenci, the owner of the winery, who decided to leave his job as a footwear entrepreneur to devote himself to winemaking in this idyllic part of Tuscany. He works with utmost respect for nature to get the maximum expression of the variety and landscape in each bottle.
