Characteristics of Enrique Mendoza Merlot Crianza
Enrique Mendoza Merlot-Monastrell 2011 is a red wine made by the Enrique Mendoza winery. Enrique Mendoza has two warehouses, one for aging in the town of Alfaz del Pi and other for development in the city of Villena, both in Alicante.
Enrique Mendoza Merlot-Monastrell is, as its name suggests, a blend of equal parts Merlot and Monastrell varieties. The grapes come from the Finca El Chaconero, where vineyards are cultivated on sandy and loamy soils.
For processing, the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26 ° C for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation is subsequently performed in oak barrels.
Finally, Enrique Mendoza Merlot-Monastrell is aged for 13 months in barrels of French and American oak.
Before hitting the market, it is neither clarified nor filtered.
