Characteristics of Enate Chardonnay 234
Enate Chardonnay 234 is a white wine made by the Enate winery in Halls (Huesca). D.O. Somontano
Enate is a winery founded in 1991 that has quickly become a reference in the Spanish wine industry. Defining itself as a wine cellar of our time, where a passion for tradition coexists with today's modern techniques, Enate offers a wide range of wines that range from typical crianza and reservas to monovarietal reds and whites.
The winery’s vineyard of approximately 500 hectares is distributed throughout the municipalities of Salas Altas, Salas Bajas, Cregenzán and Basbastro. Located at an altitude of approximately 600 metres on very fertile limestone terrain. The climate in this area is continental, the temperatures are very cold in winter and hot in the summers.
Since its beginnings Enate has always enjoyed marrying wine with art, so much so that in 1992 it began to collect national and international contemporary art. Each wine bottle reproduces on its label the work of a well-known artist, created deliberately for the winery.
Enate Chardonnay 234 is a wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown in our own vineyards.
The grapes are harvested by hand and put into boxes, upon arrival to the winery they are lightly crushed and placed in a pneumatic press for five hours while they undergo pellicular maceration. The solid waste is removed by natural decantation at 10°C and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts and temperature controlled at 16°C. Before the wine is bottled it is clarified, stabilised and filtered; it rests six months before going to market.
Enate Chardonnay 234 is a fruity, intense and fresh wine. Outstanding aromas of ripe white and exotic fruit, while the palate is velvety and fresh.

Today, the wines of the DO Somontano are characterised by their modernity, elegance and varietal personality. Just like Alsace, Chile, Australia and California, the DO Somontano is able to boast a tempting variety of truly international style white, rosé and red wines. The majority of wines produced in this region are single variety wines, using both native and international grape varieties, produced using varying winemaking techniques. As well as maintaining a high quality of wines, the Somontano region has managed to maintain fair prices in comparison to the competition, despite heavy economic investments by the wineries. Great quality and fair prices have helped wines from the region conquer much of the domestic market and openly compete with international markets.
Today, Enate is the brand of choice for many consumers and is known for its quality wines. This young winery is considered as one of the major players in the revolution of Spanish wine. The Enate winery has its own sense of identity, located in the Somontano region and is renowned on an international level. This winery produces wines using fine international grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay, as well as classic native varieties.
