Characteristics of El Níspero

El Níspero is a white wine from La Palma produced by the El Níspero winery. It is a varietal Albillo Blanco.

Harvesting is done manually and collected in boxes of between 12 and 14 kilos. Once in the winery, the grapes are selected and subjected to a gentle stripping.

El Níspero undergoes a cold maceration for 24 hours and a subsequent fermentation at a controlled temperature of 16º, with indigenous yeasts.

El Níspero finally rests for about three months before being filtered and clarified. El Níspero was founded at the end of the century by Euphrosyne Pérez Rodríguez, who inherited the family passion for wine.

The winery has the latest technology but does not lose sight of traditional winemaking methods.

Tasting notes El Níspero

Sight Pale straw yellow with greenish tints. Sleek and shiny, a nice tear. Nose Medium-high intensity, aromas of tropical fruit and citrus and floral touches. Taste Smooth and fine. Slightly bitter, with hints of tropical fruit. Its good acidity gives freshness. Highlights of mineral notes upon finishing.
Sight Pale lemon yellow colour with greenish reflections. Clean and very bright. It has beautiful tears. Nose Medium-high intensity nasal aromas. Its outstanding aromas of tropical fruit such as mango, papaya and pineapple are combined with notes of white flowers, citric and vegetal nuances (aniseed-flavour) and saline touches on a background with yeast aromas. Taste In the palate, this Spanish wine is fresh, unctuous, and elegant and shows a light and pleasant bitterness, well combined with the notes of tropical fruit, with its good acidity and with a finish marked by the mineral notes. Recommendable, pleasant and singular wine.

D.O. D.O. La Palma

With an area of 726kmand an impressive orography, La Palma is the island with the greatest heights in relation to its surface. The island is full of contrasts and luminosity, with high peaks and deep gorges, lush forests and volcanic zones full of colour, all of which have led to the nickname ‘la isla bonita’ (the beautiful island). La Palma is home to a vast range of grape varieties that, together with modern production techniques, have allowed the island to produce many pleasant surprises, not only with their classic white Malvasia wine and wines derived from the ancient "canary sack", but also their rosés and reds, which are also signs of excellent quality.
