Characteristics of El Carro
El Carro Parque Natural is a red wine from the D.O Alicante produced by the winery Bernebé Navarro. This wine is made using only the Muscat of Alexandriagrape variety.
The grapes used for El Carro Parque Natural come from the Pago El Carro, which is situated in the Parque Natural de la Mata. The vineyards are home to naturally occurring sandy soils, a feature that helped the vines survive the epidemic of phylloxera.
The vines are grown with the utmost care and respect for the natural and vegetative cycles, with the winery intervening as little as possible. The subsequent winemaking processes are performed in a natural manner.
One transported to the winery, the grapes pass through a selection table. The grapes are then cold pressed and undergo fermentation, which is carried out using yeasts in French oak barrels of 500 liters of capacity.
El Carro Parque Natural is then aged for around 6 months: half of the wine is aged in barrels of 500 litre capacity, while the other half is aged in stainless steel tanks. Finally, small quantities of sulfur and are added before the wine is finally bottled and put onto the market.
Shopping Natural Park makes a foster lasting about half a year: half of grape rests in barrels of 500 liters of capacity and the other half does it in stainless steel tanks.
