Characteristics of El Bugader

New vintage of this great Montsant wine, with the purest expression of the fruit and the land where it comes from. El Bugader 2011 is made of Syrah with a small percentage of Grenache (15%), according to the principles of organic farming. This is how Joan d'Anguera gets to produce a very intense and elegant wine. Traditional winemaking. After its long macerations, this wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. It is recommended to decant this wine at least one hour before tasting it.
Alcohol: 15.5%
Serve at 16ºC

Tasting notes El Bugader

Sight Clean and bright, intense dark cherry colour with violet reflections. Unctuous tears. Very deep and suggestive. Nose Highly intense nasal aromas, with seductive and very elegant aromas. Its notes of flowers, red and black fruit and toasted notes, get mixed with the hints of chocolate, coffee, tobacco and spices, with its intense balsamic aromas and its notes of bakery on a great mineral background. Taste Excellent red wine with a wide and embracing attack. Its surprising balance is noticed again in the nose, where the fruit seems to be riper and the balsamic aromas more noticeable. A well-bodied and very well structured wine. Great acidity and deep, integrated acidity. Velvety and very tasty nose. Its tannins are noticeable but very pleasant. Very long and persistent finish.
Sight Intense, bright and clean cherry red colour with violet reflections. Unctuous tears. Nose Immense aromas with a great elegance and a great balance. Its notes of flowers and red and black fruit and its great toasted aromas get mixed with some hints of chocolate, coffee, tobacco and spices, with intense balsamic notes, nuances of bakery and a great mineral background. Taste Excellent red wine with a warm, wide and embracing attack. The aromas felt in the nose are back with an amazing balance, riper notes of fruit and more noticeable balsamic hints. Full-bodied, well structured and velvety wine. Delicious. Its tannins are noticeable but very nice. Very long and persistent finish.  A superb wine!

Winery Joan d'Anguera

The DO Montsant is situated in the province of Tarragona, surrounding the DOQ Priorat. Although a young Denominación de Origen, The DO Monstant is located in a land with a large history in winemaking. The wines, mostly reds, are typically made with Grenache and Carignan grapes and are authentic, wild and artisanal. Wines produced in this region are usually extremely good value given the high quality.
