Characteristics of Edetària Blanc
The new vintage Edetària Blanc is a white wine from D.O. Terra Alta made by Bodegas Edetària. Edetària Blanco is a coupage of Garnacha blanca (85%) and Macabeo (15%) grown on old vines more than 60 years old. As for the vinification, there has been some changes in the production process of this wine as for the 2011 vintage they used 300 litre barrels and as for the 2012 vintage, the wines underwent an aging of 8 months in 500 litre French oak barrels. This ensures there is less surface area on the wood per litre of wine and the grapes are more strongly expressed.

Wines from Terra Alta boast a unique character. This is down to numerous factors, including the region's unique wine culture, the location of the vineyards in the inland Mediterranean, and the abundance of native varieties including the Garnacha Blanca, whose white wines perhaps best express the unique character of the terroir. It is for this reason that these wines hold their own distinctive classification of “Terra Alta Garnacha Blanca”.
