Domaine Georges Vernay Côtie-Rôtie Maison Rouge is a Syrah variety red wine made by Domaine Georges Vernay in the Côte-Rôtie denomination.
Domaine Georges Vernay are known for their efforts to revive the Condrieu denomination. With a unique style, which stands out for its delicacy, elegance and harmony, their wines are a symbol of the Rhone Valley. The founder’s granddaughter Christine Verny continues to work with the same methods and the same passion across her 16 hectares of vineyards.
Domaine Georges Vernay Côtie-Rôtie Maison Rouge comes from old vines with an average age of 50 years old. The planting density of 10,000 strains per hectare on terraces makes it impossible to use machinery. They are cultivated manually without using any pesticides, instead using organic phytosanitary treatments. When the grapes are fully ripe, the harvest is carried out manually into boxes.
In the winery, the partially scraped grape macerates and ferments in wooden tanks and open barrels. It is drained after 3 to 4 weeks. Domaine Georges Vernay Côtie-Rôtie Maison Rouge then ages for 24 months in barrels, 30% of which are made with new wood.
Domaine Georges Vernay Côtie-Rôtie Maison Rouge is a red wine made in the prestigious Côte-Rôtie denomination and is full of finesse and elegance.
