Domaine du Pélican Arbois Chardonnay

Domaine du Pélican Arbois Chardonnay is an oak-aged white wine made by Domaine du Pélican with the Chardonnay variety in the AOC Arbois (Jura).

After leaving Burgundy, the Angerville family bought vineyards in 2014 from the well-known “Father of Arbois”, Jacques Puffeney and created Domaine du Pélican Arbois. Using an imagine of the local bird, the pelican, as its logo, they produce fresh and energetic wines with a Jura character.

Domaine du Pélican Arbois Chardonnay comes from some very exclusive vineyards. These strains have had no chemical products used on them for a long time and they are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture only. The soils are mainly limestone and marl and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimal point of ripeness.

In the winery, Domaine du Pélican Arbois Chardonnay first ferments in used wooden barrels and then ages for 10 months in 350-litre barrels, 10% of which are new. When the wine is ready, it is bottled, adding only the minimum amount of sulphites. 

Domaine du Pélican Arbois Chardonnay is a fresh and elegant white wine with a Burgundy style. A chardonnay with subtle creaminess and marked acidity.
