Daterra Azos da Vila Manzaneda is a red wine by Daterra Viticultores that presents a range of native varieties of the Ribeira Sacra such as Mencía, Mouratón, Alicante Bouschet, Gran Negro, Merenzao, Dona Blanca, Colgadeira, Godello and Palomino.
Daterra Viticultores is the personal project that the young Laura Lorenzo began after working for years in the Dominio do Bibei winery. She is a wine grower who knows the area well and applies all her knowledge of biodynamic and permatura agriculture in the 24 plots that are located on the southeast edge of the Ribeira Sacra: a mixed plantation of old vines of various native varieties that are grown and developed with ancestral techniques.
All the production for Daterra Azos da Vila Manzaneda is cultivated on slopes of clay soil with slate and gneiss; terroirs that, although very favourable for quality cultivation, make it necessary to harvest the grapes totally by hand into 15kg boxes.
Once in the winery Daterra Azos da Vila Manzaneda undergoes alcoholic fermentation for 16 to 20 days with native yeasts and with a part of the stems in 500 litre oak barrels. It then ages in 225 litre oak barrels for 10 months.
Daterra Azos da Vila Manzaneda is a red wine with a clear Atlantic profile that reflects the beauty and personality of a unique location.
