Craggy Range Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a barrel-fermented white wine made by Craggy Range in Marlborough, South Island (New Zealand) with the Sauvignon Blanc variety.
Craggy Range is one of the most famous wineries in New Zealand. Located in the renowned Hawke’s Bay area of New Zealand, at the foot of the Te Mata Peak, owner Terry Peabody, together with Steve Smith and his technical expertise, produces intense and very elegant world-renowned wines.
Craggy Range Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc comes from Avery, a vineyard lying in one of the hottest parts of the Marlborough wine region. The strains are planted in stony soils, 15 km from the sea and at a relatively low altitude, out of reach from the sea breeze. They use environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
In the winery, the Craggy Range Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. The resulting must then undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. There the wine ages on lees for 4 months before being clarified, filtered and bottled.
Craggy Range Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect introduction to a New Zealand white. Well-balanced, intense and fresh fruit with a very elegant finish.
