Characteristics of Colosia Cream
Colosia Cream is a fortified wine produced under the D.O. Jerez by Bodegas Gutiérrez Colosia, situated in the Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz.
The winery was founded back in 1838 and is situated at the mouth of the River Guadalete, on the Bay of Cadiz. The location of the winery is perfect for the production of wines, with the dry Levant wind and the humidity of the Atlantic offer an ideal self-regulation of humidity.
This cream is produced by blending different sherrys, partly a Palomino Fino Oloroso (which does not have a flor layer during its ageing), and a percentage of Pedro Ximenez, which helps provide the characteristic sweetness of this type of fortified wine, it is aged for 4 years.
