Characteristics of Colegiata Tinto
Colegiata is a red wine from Toro produced by Bodegas Fariña, one of the oldest wineries in the Toro region, founded in 1942.
The climate in this area is continental with Atlantic influences, characterized by a large temperature variation between days and nights. The winters are long and cold (up to -7 ° C) with short but intense summers (up to 40 degrees). It is one of the driest areas of Spain due to a low rainfall of 350 litres per year.
This wine is a varietal Tinta de Toro from both 300 hectares of their own vineyards and other growers. The vineyards are planted on trellises, on sandy and stony alluvial soil. As for processing, maceration occurs for 7 days before fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25 ° C.
