Characteristics of Clos Pons 810
Clos Pons 810 is a D.O. Costers del Segre red wine by Clos Pons.
A single varietal Marselan. Its grapes come from vines from the town of L'Albagés, 500 metres above sea level.
The harvest is carried out manually in 15-kg boxes. The wine spends 18 months in 300-litre capacity new French oak barrels. Clos Pons 810 is a selection of the two best barrels of our terraces on the Southern slope, where the Marselan variety ripens perfectly and obtains optimal concentration.
When we refer to the DO Costers del Segre we think of wines with a continental character, which in some respects is true, but extensive replantation of international grape varieties means that the majority of wines produced here lack a geographical or territorial trademark, even though the vast majority of the wines are technologically perfect. However, there are currently wineries such as Mas Blanch i Jové, Costers del Sio, L’Olivera, Lagravera and Thomas Cusiné, among others, who concentrate their effors on producing wines with what are considered varieties native to the region. However, the majority of this region is still dominated by classic international varieties.

Construction of this winery marked the end of a project that the Pons family had begun in 2005. The construction of this space was fuelled by the company's belief in tradition and respect for the earth. Starting from the concepts of order, symmetry, land and the construction of rock and wood characteristic of the Les Garrigues area, this project revolves around interaction and adaptation to the environment.
