Characteristics of Circe Verdejo
Circe Verdejo is a white wine from the Rueda produced by Avelino Vegas Bodegas, a winery that was founded in 1950 by Avelino Vegas. In 1964, he produced the first wine made with the Verdejo grape.
The climate in this area is Mediterranean but with a clear continental influence. It is characterized by very cold and long winters, short springs with late frosts and hot, dry summers with some isolated showers. This wine is a varietal Verdejo (100%) from old vines planted between 700 and 800 meters above sea level, in the municipality of Segovia in the villages of Moraleja, Aldeanueva, Codorniz and Santiuste. Regarding the development, after the manual harvest, a cold maceration and fermentation at a low temperature (12 ° C) is performed. Finally, the wine rests with its lees, to achieve its characteristic smoothness on the palate.

06/05/17Circe Verdejo 2016I drank this wine while in Seville on a recent holiday and it was really delightful - a taste of lemons and other things. I can't find anywhere in England which sells it so that's why I have ordered online.

With hints of flowers, fruit, scrub herbs and very fine aromas, these grapes give the wine a very strong personality.
