Characteristics of Château Romassan Rouge
Château Romassan Rouge is a red wine made from Monsatrell and a little Grenache Tintafrom the AOC Bandol produced by Domaines Ott.
Domaines Ott is a winery founded in 1896 by an Alsatian agronomist who settled in Provence. Domaines Ott has three properties in Provence, two of which are classified as Cru Classé. The winery has always been characterised by showing great respect for nature and striving to produce high quality wines. In 2004 it joined the prestigious brand Louis Roeder to continue improving in the wine sector.
The vineyards for Château Romassan Rouge are planted in terraces and are organised into a total of seventy 2 hectare plots. Their soils are composed of limestone, sandstone and sea shale. They have an average age of 25 years and produce around 40 hectolitres per hectare. They are harvested manually, and a selection of bunches is made in the vineyard and then another in the cellar so that only the best bunches are vinified.
Château Romassan Rouge ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Once vinified, it is aged in oak barrels for a period of 20 to 24 months.
Château Romassan Rouge is a red wine made from Monsatrell accompanied by Grenache with quite a long barrel ageing that gives rise to a wine that is sweet and elegant wine on the nose, and smooth and harmonious on the palate.
On the nose, Château Romassan Rouge 2014 is sweet and elegant, and expresses aromas of berries, spices, together with notes of menthol and undergrowth. The palate reveals a fresh, soft and harmonious wine with hints of lightly mentholated red fruit.
