Characteristics of Cava Fuchs de Vidal Gran Reserva Brut Nature

Fuchs de Vidal Gran Reserva is a cava Brut Nature from Cava produced by the Capità Vidal winery. It is a blend of Xarelo (50%), Macabeo (30%) and Parellada (20%).

The three types of grape are fermented separately and mixed afterwards. This cava is made entirely by traditional methods and maturing lasts at least 30 months.

The clarification is done manually at a table, tilting the bottles back an eight times a day so that all the sediments are concentrated in the neck. You cannot add any expedition liqueur to cava.

The Vidal Capità winery was founded by Enrique Vidal with his wife Tati Fuchs in 1985. Here, before starting in this world, they were great travellers.

Enrique Vidal had sailed the seven seas and had a great experience as a lone traveller, while his wife had become a champion windsurfer.

Sight Pale gold. Scintillating and petite bubbles, which form the shape of a crown. Nose Intense and fine aging is evident. Taste Complex yet smooth and harmonious. Great personality, a long aftertaste.

Winery Capitá Vidal

Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
