Cascina Delle Rose Dolcetto d'Alba A Elizabeth is an organic young red wine made with the Dolcetto variety in the Italian denomination DOC Dolcetto d'Alba, in Piedmont by Cascina Delle Rose.
Located in Río Sordo, one of the historic Barbaresco cru, Cascina Delle Rose is a small family winery with 5 hectares of land. Vines, hazelnut trees, forest and rose bushes (which is where name ‘rose house’ comes from) that all grow together to produce a high quality raw material. These are delicious grapes that have been vinified on the estate since 1974 to produce traditional and elegant wines.
Cascina Delle Rose Dolcetto d'Alba A Elizabeth comes from vineyards planted 45 years ago in a grand cru area with clay-calcareous soils with sand and marl. The team work ecologically without using chemical herbicides that could harm the environment. The yield is limited to 30hl / ha and the harvest is carried out manually.
In the winery, the Cascina Delle Rose Dolcetto d'Alba A Elizabeth grapes are squeezed and fermented spontaneously in contact with the skins for about 12-14 days. It then macerates with the cap submerged and malolactic fermentation finishes at a temperature of 20ºC. Finally, it ages in stainless steel tanks and in bottles, without filtering or clarifying.
Named after Elizabeth, a friend of the winery who helps with the harvest, Cascina Delle Rose Dolcetto d'Alba A Elizabeth is a light, easy-to-drink wine at a great price. Pure fruity satisfaction.
