Características de Casa de la Ermita Petit Verdot

A very serious varietal wine produced as the result of a careful elaboration. Vintage after vintage, it stands as one of the best expressions of the variety Petit Verdot. It goes through a malolactic fermentation in American and French oak barrels for 12 months and rests in the same barrels. It is recommended to aerate this wine one hour before serving it. A wine that can be drunk within the next two years.

Tasting notes Casa de la Ermita Petit Verdot

Sight Dark cherry colour with maroon reflections. A very bright and dense wine with dense tear. Nose On a background full of balsamic notes and aromatic herbs, a wide range of aromas are displayed. Lots of spices provided by the oak (vanilla, cinnamon and pepper) are noticed along with intense notes of tobacco, chocolate and coffee, mixed with nice creamy notes. But what stands out is the intensity of its fresh ripe fruit (mainly black fruit), which becomes very expressive and wrap the other aromas. Taste In the mouth, it is very tasty and mature. Its concentrated notes of ripe fruit dominate the palate wrapped in very creamy aromas and marked toasted notes. Fresh balsamic hints. Good acidity and ripe tannins. Very long finish.  A Jumilla wine to be enjoyed at every moment.
Sight Intense and deep cherry colour with very dark garnet edges. Very bright wine with good and thin tears. Nose Great aromatic intensity dominated by the notes of ripe black fruit accompanied by milky touches, tobacco, sweet and hot spices and subtle notes of aromatic herbs. Taste Tasty and concentrated red wine from Jumilla, with a long and very silky mid palate. Its notes of ripe black fruit and its herbal aromas are dominant. It has marked but pleasant tannins, a good acidity and a lingering finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste, typical of the variety.
Sight Purple-red garnet colour. Its colouring intensity is such that the result is of an opaque lustre. Nose Cherry aromas, ripe blackberries, ripe orange peal with a floral sensation reminding one of lavender. Its high aromatic intensity has the feel of surprise. Of an exotic character.
Taste The primary feel is of sweetness, the centre of the pallet is taken over by a concentration of ripened darks fruits, a potent and complex tannic structure. A final light bitterness, characterised in its variety, with a long and intense after-taste.

Winery Casa de la Ermita

DO Jumilla is located on a high plain in the eastern region of Spain, acting as a transition zone between the Mediterranean coastal area and the high central plateau of Castile-La Mancha. The vineyards of Jumilla are spread over the municipality of Jumilla, in Murcia, and six counties in the southeast of the province of Albacete: Ontur, Tobarra, Albatana, Hellin, Montealegre and Fuente Alamo. The main variety of the area is the Monastrell grape variety, a noble and robust variety which produces small bunches of small dark-coloured grapes very rich in sugars and other noble components.
