Characteristics of Camino del Norte La Patena
Camino del Norte La Patena is a white wine produced by Camino del Norte Compañía de Vinos, in Valtuille de Abajo, El Bierzo.
Camino del Norte Compañía de Vinos, is a project of oenologist Raúl Pérez and Luis Miguel Fernández in El Bierzo. With this project they aim to produce wines with an Atlantic profile, fresh and elegant, from vase-shaped vines planted on sloping terrains in El Bierzo, between Valtuille and Cacabelos. Located at the upper course of the river Sil, amongst mountains and with a very specific climate, with relatively mild temperatures, depending on the altitude.
Camino del Norte Compañía de Vinos, decided not to be subject to a Regulating Board so that it can work without any pre-established restrictions.
Camino del Norte La Patena is made from the Godello variety, from vines that are over 50 years old. They are harvested by hand and placed in 15 kg boxes. Grapes are selected in the winery. 70% is aged on its fine lees for 24 months in used French oak barrels and 30% is aged in clay vessels, also with its fine lees.
Camino del Norte La Patena is a fresh, complex wine with volume. A wine with a long life ahead.

Camino del Norte La Patena 2015 is a creamy, complex and fresh white wine. This vintage displays an excellent balance between maturity and freshness. Aromas of ripe white stone fruit with citrus notes over a very distinguished toasted base note. On the palate it is silky, full and very lingering.
