Camino del Norte El Soradal is a red wine produced by Camino del Norte Compañía de Vinos, in Valtuille de Abajo, El Bierzo.
Camino del Norte Compañía de Vinos, is a project of oenologist Raúl Pérez and Luis Miguel Fernández in El Bierzo. With this project they aim to produce wines with an Atlantic profile, fresh and elegant, from vase-shaped vines planted on sloping terrains in El Bierzo, between Valtuille and Cacabelos. Located at the upper course of the river Sil, amongst mountains and with a very specific climate, with relatively mild temperatures, depending on the altitude.
Camino del Norte Compañía de Vinos, decided not to be subject to a Regulating Board so that it can work without any pre-established restrictions.
Camino del Norte El Soradal is a wine made from a century-old Mencía variety, Alicante Bouschet and Merlot. They are manually harvested and placed in 15 kg boxes. Grapes are selected in the winery. It is produced with stems and fermented in foudres. It is aged for 12 moths in mildly toasted, used French oak barrels.
