Brote Blanco is a white wine produced by Bodegas los Pinos in Fontanars dels Alforins, D.O.Valencia.
Bodegas los Pinos is located in Vall dels Aforins, in Fontanars, 635 metres above sea level, between the mountain ranges Serra Grossa and Agullent, south from the province of Valencia.
The winery was founded by Mr Rafael Puig at the end of the 19th century, and it was located in the basement of the current house, Casa de los Pinos. In 1990, with the winery already separated from the house, they started to reconvert the vineyard. It was the first winery of the Valencian Community to attain the organic cultivation certificate.
The 60 hectares of vineyards are located 700 metres above sea level, planted on loam-sandy soils, influenced by a Mediterranean climate with average temperatures of 7ºC in winter and 24ºC in summer. With scarce and concentrated rainfall in winter and spring.
Brote Blanco is a wine made from Verdil i Viognier , from their own vineyards planted more than 20 years ago on loam-sandy soils.
Harvest is performed by hand. Once it arrives at the winery, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels where the wine remains for 4 months.
