Characteristics of Bozeto de Exopto Rosado
Boceto de Exopto Rosado is a pink wine from La Rioja prepared by the Exopto cellar. This wine is a blend of Grenache (50%) and Tempranillo (50%).
Boceto de Exopto Rosadocomes from old vines between 30 and 50 years old. The predominant type of soil is clayey and calcareous.
The harvest, which takes place between September and October, is made with boxes of 12 kilos of capacity. In this way it seeks to prevent grains from breaking and fermenting prematurely.
Both in the vineyard and in the winery laborious process of selecting clusters are conducted. The grapes undergo a direct pressing and then are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a constant and controlled temperature of 15 degrees.
Boceto de Exopto Rosado is finally aged for six months in stainless steel tanks on its lees. Exopto means, in Latin, "to desire strongly, waiting with great enthusiasm". It is a word that sums up the team spirit in the cellar.
It was founded in 2003 by Tom Puyauber in the town of Laguardia.
La Rioja is one of the most important areas of wine production in the world. It has a long history, and exceptional soils and climates. From the Tempranillo and Grenache varieties they make great red wines that are masterfully aged which demonstrates the experience passed from generation to generation.
The word Exopto comes from Latin and means to desire strongly, to hope with great enthusiasm. It was this strong desire and hope which in 2003 led Tom Puyabert to create the winery Exopto in the municipality of Laguardia. His idea was to elaborate a modern-styled wine â with a higher fruit expression and fruit load, with more colour and a finer and subtler adaptation of oak aromas â using the three main grape varieties of La Rioja: Garnacha, Graciano and Tempranillo. The aim was to achieve a perfect balance between tradition and modernity.
