Juan Gil 12 Meses 2012: welcome to Decántalo!

We love receiving new vintages of our favourite wines! Although you may think it’s nothing special, introducing a new vintage to our website is, for us, pretty amazing, since it means that our goal has been reached.

Or, rather, goals. On the one hand, it means that we have sold all of the previous vintage (an important detail). But it also means that our customers have been satisfied with this amazing wine found on our website.

And that’s exactly what’s happened, year after year, with one of our most special wines: Juan Gil 12 Meses, by Bodega Juan Gil.

This exceptional Monastrell single-varietal from the DO Jumilla has been with us since the 2006 vintage. Since then, it’s continued to be one of our best-sellers, always getting excellent reviews from our customers.

With such a reputation at Decantalo, the least we could do was to dedicate a post to the arrival on the market of the latest vintage: Juan Gil 12 Meses 2012.

Juan Gil 12 Meses 2012, like previous vintages, comes from Monastrell vines, over 40 years old, from a single plot of land. After the harvest, the wine ferments for 20-25 days and goes through the malolactic fermentation and ageing (12 months) in French oak barrels.

Juan Gil 12 Meses 2012 is the purest reflection of the Monastrell variety on the market.

It shows a picota cherry colour with a high concentration of aromas, flavours and colour. The nose evolves monumentally once the wine opens out, and on the palate it is balanced and elegant. Powerful but subtle. A sheer delight.

It continues being one of the best value wines available. If you haven’t tried it yet, check out Juan Gil 12 Meses 2012 on our website.
