Latest wines: new wines at Decántalo December 2017

We are already in the last month of the year and we present you with some very personal novelties. Unique producers and wines, fun, serious, fresh, powerful, saline, sapid and special. Come in, read, drink and enjoy.

Táganan Tinto 2016: we now have one of the most amazing landscapes of the island of Tenerife in a bottle. The Envínate team has returned to make a fine and complex wine that comes from the spectacular slopes of volcanic soils that face the Atlantic. Essential in the understanding of a classic wine profile that looks towards the future.

Comando G Mataborricos 2015: Comando G’s most casual wine is back, and all its good vibes are in this wine. Grenaches and Carignans with minimum intervention and with a clear purpose: drinking and enjoying.

PF Ponce Pie Franco 2016: We have just received the new vintage of one of the best wines made with the Bobal grape variety. The Ponce family has always known how to interpret the landscapes of Manchuela faithfully, and this cuveé is one of its best examples. From a very old vineyard of Bobal planted directly, without American rootstock, and produced in cement 600-litre used barrels. Mediterranean fruit, spices and undergrowth on a fresh background.

Ollos de Roque 2015: Second vintage of Yago Garrido in Ribeiro. A leisurely winemaker who likes to listen to what the land offers, intervening in a very natural way. A more precise and more saline vintage. A pleasurable wine for lovers of austere and mineral wines.

UBE Mahina 2015: We have just received a few bottles from this farm, bottled by the great Ramiro Ibáñez. Here at Decántalo we are faithful followers of this great winemaker from Sanlúcar. His objective is to once again enhance the Jeréz farms, without the yeast cap or velo de flor masking flavours and aromas. A wine with great austerity and integrity, capable of competing with the great white wines of the world.

Tanca Els Ulls Cartoixá de Marina 2016: We have included a young project led by Francesc Boronat in Nulles, Tarragona, in our catalogue. He has two wines, one from a very old vineyard of Maccabeu planted by his grandfather, and this one that we present to you. A Xarello Vermell, also called Cartoixa de Marina, a native and unique variety thanks to its reddish colours. It is prepared as if it were a red variety. This results in a surprising wine with a medium body, fresh and complex aromas.

La Barajuela Fino II Saca 2013: We have received very few bottles of one of the great wines of the Sherry Triangle. Willy Pérez (together with Ramiro) has brought out all the know-how of the old Jeréz and has decided to produce wines like his ancestors did. In this case, the Fino is not fortified at any time. All the alcoholic strength comes from the grape. The grapes used to make this wine come from the famous site of the Corregidor, where good viticulture is carried out focused on low production so that that the grapes ripen and become concentrated in a correct way. This is his second and very limited extraction of 2013. A full-bodied and sapid wine, intertwined with the aromas coming from the yeast cap or velo de flor, but without masking one another. A wine of authentic terroir.

Guilera Brut Nature Gran Reserva 2009: It is always a reason for satisfaction to find people who put a lot of passion into creating and developing small projects. In this case, Pere Guilera is the owner and the one who has contributed with all the know-how he has, thanks to a life dedicated to viticulture and cava. The team is completed by his daughter, Marta Guilera, along with Miguel Hileno. They are dedicated to the production of long-aged cavas, at a small scale. The affection they have towards it during the production is reflected in each bottle. Try it!
