So de Tardor, the new wine from Primavera Sound

So de Tardor, is the name of the new project by the founders of the renowned avant-garde music festival Primavera Sound, This year it celebrates its 19th edition in Barcelona. However, although its name might give that impression, this new project is not something to do with the top level music scene, but rather a wine project in the Penedés. And Xarel·lo is the main artiste.

So de Tardor is the most recent expression of this young initiative: a fresh and exciting organic white wine, reminiscent of aromas of St. John’s pear and green apple with a creamy harmony base note. On the palate it is complex and elegant, and its light acidity gives it a pleasant freshness that invites us to continue tasting it.

So de Tardor has been made with grapes from old vines, planted in 1959, which produce grapes that are few in number but very balanced and concentrated. They are harvested by hand and the must ferments at a low temperature to preserve and extract the fresh and fruity aromas of Xarel·lo. Once vinified, half of the wine undergoes a slight ageing on lees in French oak barrels to give it more volume and organoleptic complexity.

To produce So de Tardor, from the outset they have had the invaluable collaboration of Anna Baqués, former oenologist for Can Ràfols dels Caus and Mas Oller.

It should be remembered that the total number of bottles of So de Tardor is very limited, at less than 3,000 bottles. A craft wine that is sure to sell out quickly.

One more nod to the festival: the label for this vintage is designed by Ana Ayala, who has been responsible for the graphic campaigns of Primavera Sound for years.
