Characteristics of Bernardo Estevéz Issué
Bernardo Estévez Issué is a white wine produced by Bernardo Estévez in Arnoia (Ourense), D.O. Ribeiro.
Bernardo Estévez planted his first vineyards back in 2001 when he was a car mechanic in Vigo. It was not until 2008 that he decided to return to Arnoia to work in his vineyards full time.
After learning about natural and biodynamic agriculture in Portugal and Ribeiro, in 2009 Bernardo Estévez created his own colleteiro winery, typical from Galicia, with 2.4 hectares of vineyard that were between 14 and 100 years old.
Bernardo Estévez produces authentic and personal wines, with honesty and respect for the land, history and nature.
Bernardo Estévez Issué is a wine made with Lado, Treixadura, Godello, Albariño, Caiño Blanco and Silveiriña, from their own vineyards located to around 200 metres of altitude, planted on clayey-sandy soils.
The harvest is carried out manually. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they ferment with native yeasts in 500-litre oak barrels. After the fermentation, it is aged for 9 months in new 500-litre barrels.
Bernardo Estévez Issué is a complex, intense and fresh wine. Aromas of yellow and white fruit stand out, with very refreshing citric notes, and floral and dry grass shades. In the mouth it is silky, agile and very long. A great personality and a long life ahead.

La Treixadura has established itself as the prominent variety of the Ribeiro. The variety has become irreplaceable in the region, responsible for the fame achieved by the region's wines, as well as their glorious past. It is a well planted strain, vigorous, fairly resistant to disease, with middle productivity and late maturing, which helps produce wines with a spectacular and personal character through the variety, full of freshness and flavour in the mouth, and added mystery.
