Characteristics of Avan Crianza
Avan Crianza is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero produced by B y viñedos Juan Manuel Burgos. This wine is a varietal Tempranillo.
The vineyard where the grapes come from uses the most respectful possible methods. The products used for the manufacture of Avan Crianza are natural and treatments are performed under lunar influence to cure any diseases more successfully.
The harvest is manual and the grapes are transported in boxes. A double selection of clusters and grain occurs, and winemaking is done without adding external elements. Avan Crianza is finally aged for about a year in barrels of French oak and a small proportion of American oak barrels.
Avan takes the name of Nava River, which passes through the town of Fuentelcésped where B. y viñedos Juan Manuel Burgos is situated.
The project began in 1992 when Juan Manuel Burgos began to pursue his studies in enology in Madrid. The winery itself, established in 1996, now has 30 acres and produces about 75,000 bottles a year.
Ribera del Duero is a Denomination of Origin located on the northern plateau, bathed by the waters of the River Duero, where they produce delicious and recognised red wines with great complexity made from the Trinto Fino grape variety.
