Characteristics of Arzuaga Rosae
Arzuaga Rosae is a rose wine by Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro produced in the Ribera del Duero. Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro are located in the town of Onesimus Quintanilla in the province of Valladolid. This is a village with a great wine tradition.
Arzuaga Rosae is a varietal Tempranillo from vines over 25 years old planted on a single farm, Finca La Planta. This is a large estate of 1,400 acres with flora in the vineyard such as pines and oaks, together with wild boar and deer.
The soils of Finca La Planta are calcareous clay and bedrock a few feet below the surface. As a result, the vines are underperforming due to poor soil fertility and the hard Castilian climate.
There are large temperature differences between day and night to help a correct ripening of the grapes.
After maturing, the grape harvest is done manually, carrying the grapes in small boxes of 15 kg. Thus ensuring arrival in good conditions at the winery.
The grapes are selected upon arrival at the winery. They are carefully pressed to extract the desired colour.
Fermentation takes place at a temperature not exceeding 12ºC. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is decanted and bottled cold, preserving vividness at all times.

Ribera del Duero is a Denomination of Origin located on the northern plateau, bathed by the waters of the River Duero, where they produce delicious and recognised red wines with great complexity made from the Trinto Fino grape variety.
As in all European countries, many Spanish wines owe their reputation to the efforts of some traditional families and some large companies that have kept two basic requirements: quality and personality. These family companies have managed to gather their own heritage that allows them to produce wines "at home", with all the control guarantees. This is the case of this laudable winery, Arzuaga Navarro. Since its early days, at the beginning of the 90s, harvest after harvest they have produced wines with the seal of the house, and with the unequalled style of Ribera del Duero.
