Characteristics of Artuke
Artuke is a young red wine from the La Rioja produced by Bodegas Artuke. It is a blend of Tempranillo (95%) and Viura (5%).
The grapes used to make Artuke comes from plots in the municipality of Baños de Ebro, where the winery is located. These are located between 420 and 480 metres of altitude. Some of the strains from which the grapes are harvested were planted in 1902, while others were not cultivated until 2005.
Artuke is produced by the traditional, typical and historical method of carbonic maceration of La Rioja, whereby the whole grape undergoes intra-cellular enzymatic fermentation and very aromatic wines are achieved.
Artuke Vineyards and Winery is a small family winery using the best technological advances. It has 16 hectares of vineyards located in the municipalities of Baños de Ebro, Abalos and San Vicente.
