At the winery Artadi, one of the most representative wineries en the region of Rioja, a winemaking is conducted in which respect and the efforts to preserve nature and the set of natural resources of the vines is highly valued. With this premises, the winemaker's attitude is not a confrontation with the vineyard or a fight againts natural factors but an attitude of cooperation. At Artadi, the winemaker is one more in the process, and helps supporting and understanding the plant in adversity and showing a great respect and comprehension of the behaviour of nature.
Juan Carlos López de Lacalle defines the vintage 2012 as follows: the vintage 2012 provided wines which are limpid and transparent, with fresh aromas provided by the freshness of red fruits. Currently they are highly young wines with penetrating tanins.

Bodegas Artadi was founded in Laguardia back in 1985 as the´Cooperative Cosecheros Alaveses’', led by Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacalle. It was an association of a group of growers that wanted to collaborate on a business project based on the viticultural wealth of the La Rioja Alavesa region. They wanted the opportunity to prove that the use of carbonic maceration could also produce great wines, and this they did. Artadi has a history linked to the memory and stories of the people who helped found the winery and make what it is today. Outside of the busy and overcrowded industry , Artadi is based on passion and respect for the land and vineyards.

<br>Artadi is one of the most emblematic vineyards of the Rioja Alavesa, advocating respectful viticulture and coexistence with nature. They respect the natural resources of the vines, and support and develop the natural processes, all the while maintaining a great respect for and understanding of the behaviour of nature.
<br>This wine is made with <strong>Tempranillo</strong> grapes from vines planted in 1945, located in Laguardia. The winemaking process is carried out in open wooden deposits. The wine is subject to a cold maceration for 24-48 hours and then ferments for 10-12 days with two treadings per day and a small pump-over. The malolactic fermentation takes place in the barrel.
